We arrived to a very welcome meal in Lake Bluff (thanks Aunt Ruth!!), and then to get out some energy, we took a walk to the shores of Lake Michigan.

   

       

It didn't take long for the kids to start wading
       

And then going deeper.... and discovering just how cold it was!
       

Then getting into the sand...
   

And racing into the water
   

Then, sitting in the waves (Maria) or jumping into pits (Tommy)
   

Finally, at dusk, we had to head home for a shower and bed
