The week before school was supposed to let out for Christmas break, we got our first snow in 2 years. The kids rushed right out to play. Here they are trying to catch snowflakes on their tongues.
There was enough to make snow balls and throw them at mom.
And we made snow angels.
And after some thawing and refreezing, there was even enough snow to sled! (See how the lawns have barely any snow? School was closed for a week because of this!)
And sometiems, just running in the snow is fun.
It turns out that this little bit of snow was just the beginning. The next week weekend, it REALLY snowed - we got nearly a foot of snow! That's unheard of for Portland. They haven't had this much snow in 30 years.
