Back in Business!

Hello Everyone!

The earlier test message obviously alerted everyone that the list was
coming up again. Tomorrow's the last day of my second year exams. Felt
relatively confident with it, so decided to do a cleanup of the humour list
addresses by removing the invalid ones. Within two hours of sending the
message, I got back around 200 returned messages, plus another 100 or so
messages from various people claiming they didn't receive the test message.
:) Glad to see that everyone still has their sense of humour despite my
lack of mailings.

The server which earlier hosted the humour list web site was unfortunately
brought down by hackers, but another list member has kindly provided the
space to put up the site on his server. Unfortunately, it was too close to
exams, and I've only uploaded half the files. A visitor to the site is
greeted with a solitary GIF saying "Home"! Don't worry, I'm in the process
of redesigning the site, and should have it back up soon.

Regarding the next year of the humour list, I'm not too sure on what will
happen, or how I'll be able to handle it. I'll be in industrial placement
from September, so I don't know how much time I'll have, to devote to the
list. Anyway, only time will tell. But one thing I SHOULD mention is that
I will NOT handle any unsubscribe requests which are sent directly to me.
If you want to unsubscribe, please do so using the majordomo method: Send
a message to with the word "unsubscribe" (without quotes)
in the body of the message. If there are any problems in this approach,
you will be given an alternate method of contacting me, to which I will
immediately respond. Another thing, if you have a full mailbox, and I
receive mail from the mailer daemon regarding this, I will take off the
offending address. Sorry about it, but I'm getting enough mail as it is.
During the time that the list was dormant, I was getting approx 80-100
messages a day. And with the list resuming, the amount of mail will
dramatically increase. With the extremely high phone rates here, the time
spent checking mail does add up. :(

Some people had e-mailed saying that they had received two or three copies
of the test message, even though I sent out only one. It was, I think, due
to a small hiccup in the majordomo server, but I don't think it'll happen

Enough blabbering. Let's get down to business! Well, the following can't
be classified as humour or anything, but I felt like sending it out.

          A Friend....
 Accepts you as you are
 Believes in "you"
Calls you just to say "HI"
 Doesn't give up on you
Envisions the whole of you (even the unfinished parts)
 Forgives your mistakes
 Gives unconditionally
 Helps you
 Invites you over
 Just because
 Keeps you close at heart
Loves you for who you are
Makes a difference in your life
 Never Judges
 Offers support
 Picks you up
 Quiets your fears
 Raises your spirits
 Says nice things about you
Tells you the truth when you need to hear it
 Understands you
 Values you
 Walks beside you
Yells when you won't listen and
 Zaps you back to reality
May we always be "good buddies"
May we always be good friends
and may our friendship be the kind
            that never, ever ends.....................
